The demands for environmentally friendly packaging has seen a substantial increase in the use of oxo-biodegradable plastic. Europe in particular, and South America have both embraced this advanced technology, and the EU Environmental Committee has set targets against non-degradable plastics in its May 2006 Directives. The realisation by governments that recycling can only have a minimum impact on their waste streams has resulted in them instituting in-depth analysis of just what can be done.
