More than 70 bioplastics analysed in updated market report |
|
The Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology together with the Institute for Recycling and bioplastics24.com publishes a completely updated technical report that analyses 73 globally available biopolymers.
The brand-new market report, available from mid October, provides precise information on technical parameters and processing characteristics of globally available biodegradable plastics and plastics made from renewable resources. 73 polymers, submitted by more than 30 manufacturers and developers, have been intensively tested according to DIN-standards.
The report that was first published in 2006 has been completely updated and substantially extended. Additional information on more than 20 new bioplastics has been included. For the first time, a comparative analysis also investigates differences and consistencies between bio-plastics and conventional plastics in key parameters such as impact strength and E-module. The report thus provides a comprehensive basis for plastic manufacturers and processors who are considering entering the bioplastics market. The report also includes a new section with an introduction to natural fibre reinforced plastics.
