TVS Group co Harita NTI plans bio-plastics foray |
Chennai: Armed with polymer energy technology to convert waste plastic to crude oil and bio-degradable and bio-based plastic technology, Chennai-based Harita NTI, part of TVS group, has proposed to manufacture various base resins out of bio-mass.
The company, a 50:50 joint venture of TVS with Northern Technologies International Corporation of the US, has already been allotted 5 acres in Oragadam industrial area, near Chennai, official sources told ET. Describing it as a unique project, they said, “This is the type of eco-friendly projects we are keen to encourage and support“.
