Elliotts are proud to announce the launch of their environmentally friendly bio-degradable range of absorbent food pads, initially available in 800ml and 1500ml per square metre absorption levels. The range utilises an Airlaid core with bio-degradable bikofibre allied to a PLA film laminate. This allows Elliotts to claim with confidence that their bio-degradable components exceed 90% content and passes the European Composting Certificate Standard EN 13432:2000-12. This packaging has been tested to compost within 7 weeks in optimum conditions in an industrial composting system. The PLA Film is made from Corn Starch and is therefore not only degradable but renewable, this also includes the Pulp Fibre used by Elliotts which is sourced from forests approved by the sustainable forestry initiative, a programme of forestry husbandry designed to ensure abundant forests for tomorrow.
