Mizuno, a leader in running footwear and apparel technology, has announced the use of a new thermoplastic elastomer range for the Wave® Technology plates in four models of high performance running shoes set to debut in 2009. This new thermoplastic elastomer range named Pebax® Rnew, is made from renewable resources, castor oil, and contributes to global warming reduction.
The Pebax® Rnew will be utilized in both men's and women's models of the Mizuno Wave Rider® 12, Wave Inspire® 5, Wave Creation® 10, and Wave Nirvana® 5.
To mark the event, Arkema has joined forces with MIZUNO to launch a new on-line contest on www.pebaxpowered.com, a website dedicated to sports applications.
Websurfers who are also running fans are invited to visit the website to check out the unique properties of the Pebax® Rnew brand, a high-tech plastic used in sports equipment and try to win one of 60 pairs of Mizuno Wave Rider® 12.
In the sports footwear market, Pebax® combines its image with leading brands in baseball, basketball and running shoes, and in soccer, rugby, American football and ski boots.
