Samsung intros E200 Eco phone made of bio-plastics |

At the Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung event in Beijing, Samsung unveiled an environmentally-friendly version of its E200 slider phone
on Wednesday and called it the E200 Eco. To lower its carbon footprint,
the company used bio-plastic for the E200 Eco's external case. The case
is made from natural plant-based materials and not petroleum like the
case on the standard version of the phone, saving 1.16 tons of CO2 for
every 1 ton of bio-plastic used versus traditional polycarbonate. The company will also package the E200
Eco in a recycled paper box that does not use any glossy coatings as
part of its efforts to be friendlier to the environment. Samsung is
working in conjunction with Cheil Industries on its efforts.
