Shares of Metabolix, Inc. (MBLX) are among the best performing today as they gain more than 12%. While this company might not be a household name, this is a stock that I touched on a couple of weeks ago when I pointed out a story about it and bioplastics. Even though the company is an interesting story, the stock has struggled. The shares are down 60% this year and hit an annual low on Monday. The overall weak price action might be part of the reason that short interest has been steadily increasing.
