| Second overseas contract for UK biodegradable plastics company |

In the same week that the national press has denigrated biodegradable
plastics as confusing, UK-based oxo-bio plastics company Symphony
Environmental has announced its second overseas deal in a month. Just weeks ago, Symphony agreed to supply South Africa based food processor Tiger Brands with the product additives to make d2w oxo-biodegradable packaging (mrw, April 21 2008). This week, the company has agreed a 15-year distribution and manufacturing agreement with Fujairah Plastics Group of Sharjah from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which will cover the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Libya, Syria and Jordan.
