Second overseas contract for UK biodegradable plastics company |
In the same week that the national press has denigrated biodegradable
plastics as confusing, UK-based oxo-bio plastics company Symphony
Environmental has announced its second overseas deal in a month.
Just
weeks ago, Symphony agreed to supply South Africa based food processor
Tiger Brands with the product additives to make d2w oxo-biodegradable
packaging (mrw, April 21 2008).
This week, the company has
agreed a 15-year distribution and manufacturing agreement with Fujairah
Plastics Group of Sharjah from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which
will cover the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Libya, Syria and
Jordan. Once production is up and running, volumes are expected to
reach more than 500 tonnes monthly.
