| New bioplastic produced from beet has been certified. |

According to company information, the international certification body Vinçotte (Belgium) has certified the MINERV® PHA bio-plastic as “OK Biodegradable Water”
.
MINERV® PHA is the result of a common research project started in 2007 whose aim was to
produce biodegradable plastic from green beet, so far used mainly to produce sugar.
This idea is particularly innovative because for the first time in the world, PHA
(polyhydroxyalkanoates) has been obtained from green sugar beet and its derivatives and
not from oils or cereal starch, as is the major part of the biopolymers on the market today.
This certification confirms the complete biodegradability in water at room temperature,
putting MINERV® PHA in first place among the existing bio plastics.
MINERV® PHA is particularly suited for the production of a wide range of rigid or flexible
plastic objects and replaces highly polluting products obtained from crude oil, such as PET, PP,
and PVC which are used to produce: bottles, food packaging, car components, furnishing, fibres,
packaging film, and electronics.
MINERV® PHA has excellent thermal qualities. Productive needs from -10°C to +180°C can be
satisfied with the polymerisation range.
The new MINERV® PHA bio-plastic is the first and only biopolymer on this planet that comes
from nature, is produced naturally and is made for the conservation of nature.
