The best way to understand biomaterials in packaging

In September 2007 Biopack 07 was arranged in Gothenburg, Sweden. This was the first biopack conference in Sweden and the interest for the event was big. 120 attendees was informed about the possibilitys with those materials. Brandowners, packaging producers, suppliers, recycling companies were among the attendees.

The great interest encouraged the magazine nord emballage to come back with Biopack 08, also in Gothenburg. The speed in the development of this market means that it makes sence to repeat the conference one year later.

This year the conference will be opened by Harald Kaeb, chairman of European Bioplastics. The rest of the day will have presentaions from rawmaterial companies like Mirel-Telles and Novamont, potential users or users of the materials like Tetra Pak, Tenova Bioplastics and a look at the rawmaterial source of those materials, should it be for example starch from corn or should it be ethanol from sugar canes? We will also get some interesting information about life cycle analysis of the biomaterial.

The day ends with Julian Carroll from EUROPEN. He will talk about the “S” word in packaging and a panel discussion with the speakers.

This day is a must for everyone that have an interest in biomaterial. It will cover the topic in many ways, giving a good picture of the position for the materials today.

Dont miss it!
